Our Story
Living on the river brings continual reminders of the vulnerability of water and our natural environment, and its effect on the well-being of all living beings.
The central mission of this project is to raise awareness of the beauty and importance of the river environment and offer opportunities to educate on how we can protect this valuable resource. In the past, yearly exhibitions included programs and events with environmentalists who could about protecting our water and air, and offer ways to be proactive in this regard. Additionally, half of the net proceeds of the sale of each painting was be donated equally to the Housatonic Valley Association and Riverkeeper. These organizations are actively working to protect and preserve the Housatonic and Hudson Rivers.
While we no longer have space in the Stockbridge Station Gallery, we continue to use our art to speak of the importance of clean rivers.
